Warning! These Chemicals are Bad for Your Skin!

1. Parabens
Used in make-up, moisturisers and shampoos this add-on can mess with hormone function and is also associated with breast cancer. Look for names that end with pararaben such as methylparaben, butylparaben, propylparaben and isobutylparaben.

2. synthetic scents
The term parfum may sound pretty on a label, but an average of 3,000 chemicals are used as fragrances. Many of these have not been tested for toxicity and can cause skin irritation or runny eyes and nose.

3. Mineral Oil
A petroleum product, this is shockingly used in baby oil. It can clog pores and cause acne.

4. sulphates
Used mainly to provide a rich lather in shampoo and cleansers, it is linked to eye damage, depression, uneasy breathing, stomach problems and severe skin irritation.

5. Triclosan
Used as a preservative in deodorants and cleansers, Triclosan reaches into the deepest layers, and may cause skin irritation. It doesn't degrade and therefore is environmentally unfriendly.
