Nigaar on Gauhar-Kushal: Let's not hatch eggs before they're laid

Gauhar Khan's elder sister Nigaar Z. Khan believes it's too early to predict whether the "Bigg Boss - Saath 7" winner will marry co-contestant Kushal Tandon, saying: "Let's not hatch eggs before they are laid." Their mother believes things can be taken forward if Gauhar so desires.

At a press meet here, their mother, Razia was asked if she would get Gauhar and Kushal married.

She said: "Gauhar is a very intelligent girl. If she wants, then we will definitely take things forward."

However, Nigaar said one needs to wait a bit to watch what the future holds.

"Let's not hatch eggs before they are laid. It's something very sweet and we saw two people respect and support each other. Let's not think about what will happen in the future. Let's be happy about today," Nigaar said here.

"Even you (media) can't guarantee what will happen in the future, then how can Gauhar. If they both stay with each other, then let's see," she added.

Nigaar also took her sister's side by saying that she wouldn't make statements just to attract good ratings for a show.

"Gauhar is not a girl who will say something only for ratings. If she has said 'I love you' to Kushal on national television, then she definitely must have felt it at that moment and is why she said it," Nigaar said.

Gauhar won the seventh season of the show, and walked away with Rs.50 lakh at the grand finale held Dec 28.

Narendra Modi needs to move on from attacks on Rahul Gandhi, wake up to challenge from Arvind Kejriwal

Is Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi stuck with his barbs aimed at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and choosing to ignore he needs to move on?

The saffron party's election campaign in the five state Assembly polls was overtly marked by the Gujarat chief minister's personal attacks against Gandhi. The success of Modi's clever use of witticism and an aggressive political rhetoric was manifest in the party reaping rich dividends in the poll results.

"We are familiar with the idea of aakashvani in the puranas but while these forced people to think, the ones coming from Delhi have exposed the deceitfulness of the Congress party," Modi said in Ranchi.

Modi's silence on AAP intentional?

Is Modi unwittingly refusing to acknowledge the change or intentionally choosing to ignore the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) effect?

The surprise entry of Arvind Kejriwal's AAP into Delhi's power circle as well as the political scene of the country has changed much and promises to change much more.

Way to treat rare Kawasaki disease found

There is good news for those seeking a cure to the Kawasaki Disease (KD) – a rare childhood affliction that involves inflammation of the blood vessels.A team of scientists at Sanford Children’s Health Research Centre in South Dakota, US, has discovered a molecule called ‘THRIL’ that helps regulate the immune response in children suffering from KD.The team of scientists measured ‘THRIL’ levels in KD samples at different stages and found that levels were at their lowest during the acute stage of the disease when TNF-alpha – a potent cytokine that promotes inflammation – levels are at their highest.“For some time, we have known that non-coding regions of RNA play important roles in regulating the immune response to microbial pathogens,” added Rana.“When we realised that THRIL functioned to control the TNF-alpha gene, we wanted to see if it mirrors the progression in inflammatory diseases,” he added.KD usually occurs in children between ages 1-5, and its cause is still unknown. It is extremely important that an accurate diagnosis be made at the earliest to prevent fatality. However, symptoms of the disease only manifest after about five days of its onset. By that time, the damage to the coronary vessel might have already been done.Symptoms of the disease include red eyes, red lips, and redness on the palm of their hands and soles of their feet – all signs of inflamed blood vessels.Kawasaki syndrome was first described by Tomisaku Kawasaki in Japan in 1967. Various reports published in international journals showed that the prevalence of the disease had been on the rise in almost all countries.
